Rising Crime in America’s Mid-Sized Cities

In Sept., 2007 The Commercial Appeal announced “Memphis Leads U.S. in Violent Crime.” While crime has been drastically reduced in major cities such as Los Angeles and New York City, the mid-sized cities such as Memphis, Louisville, and Kansas City have seen a surge of violent crime spreading throughout the suburbs without apparent rhyme or reason.
